Where to start? Okimi is an odd mix of introvert with spurts of extroversion. Meaning, she loves people but often needs a day or two to hide away and recharge her social battery. She fits easily in to social situations and can play the part of a charming hostess when needed, or can lose herself in her books and work for weeks at a time afterwards with no interaction from others.When around others, she is sweet and polite, though she does tend to let her gremlin side show through if she knows someone well. Specifically around the main crew of the Aurora and the members of the Brotherhood. That is where she is most comfortable, with her chosen family around her and the freedom to express herself and be who she truly is.She's best described as a free spirit and hopeless romantic that cares little for what others think of her. The idea of someone wooing her with sweet words and flowers makes her melt, though she has enough experience to be wary of the intentions of others at the same time.

Much of what she once desired while under the influence of her parents and the societal standards of Sharlayan has been all but forgotten. She has turned from the academic in favor of going with the flow.If you were to ask her, she'd tell you she wants to open a museum to display her own artwork and that of others. Somewhere to show off things of the past and present, from cursed artifacts to modern day paintings and sculptures.Further pressing may have her admit to one day wanting to find a proper sweetheart and have a family, but she's far too young, in her opinion, to settle down yet.

Background
Born in Sui-no-Sato in the safety of the Ruby Sea, Okimi's childhood was full of undersea adventures. Like most of her village, she completed the ritual to allow breathing underwater at a young age. She would often explore the waters around the village, searching for lost treasures and mementos from the surface. She was fascinated by the idea of living in the sun, but until her parents fled the encroaching Garleans, she never had a chance to experience it.Their flight took them first to Kugane, then later to Sharlayan. That was where they settled, with her mother choosing to work in the Last Stand as a cook, bringing a distinct Eastern flair to their other offerings while her father used his knowledge of the sea and its flora and fauna to act as a gleaner for places few others could possibly go. That meant he was often away, and with her mother working long hours at the restaurant, Kimi was often left to her own devices before and after her classes at the Studium.It was no wonder that when she met the handsome, charismatic son of Dr. Hawkins that she was drawn to him instantly. Romance blossomed, and her mother was far from pleased by the development. In her eyes, his encouragement for Kimi to pursue what she loved is what drove her away from the academic path they worked so hard to provide for her.And so she stopped hiding her love of color and gave up her muted palette in favor of bright colors and a brighter personality. She started to paint, and to create living paintings with her aether.That led to plenty of arguments with her parents and instructors, who wanted her to focus more on her studies and less on her imagination and creativity. Still, that love of art pushed her towards archaeology. Finding and preserving relics of the past was surely a suitable livelihood, one that had her on track to sit as a member of the Forum one day. Her knack for detecting and breaking the curses and wards protecting an artifact earned her a fair amount of recognition among her peers, and eventually the rank of Archon. She loved what she did, and worked hard at it... but her love of creating things was far stronger.One day, much to her parents' dismay, she simply... quit. No more relic hunting, no more curse breaking. No more Forum. She left it all behind to focus on her own passion, leading her parents to cut her off and cast her out. With no home, no money, and no future in Sharlayan, she simply left.And she's been exploring the world ever since.

She's been turned into a pixie by another fae creature as part of a 'game' revolving around an enchanted Tarot deck. Seems to be stuck like that indefinitely.

Uses her aether to hide her wings and change her size so she appears more 'normal'. Can usually pass as a young Elezen when she leaves the safety of the Taproom.

Has an addiction to tea, and is absolutely a snob about it. Has special blends shipped in from all around the star and calls it a 'business expense'.

Her favorite color is actually yellow, but it looks terrible on her so she settles for pastel purple and turquoise instead.

Though she was born in Sui-no-Sato, she remembers very little of it. The idea of a village under the sea confuses her endlessly, but she's never even attempted to return..

Absolutely refuses to leave her room if she hasn't applied her scale ointment, both because her scales feel itchy without it, and because it ruins her aesthetic to not have the shimmery rainbow look to them.

Kimi's aether isn't one specific color, but rather shifts and changes constantly. What may be sunny yellow one moment could be deep purple the next.

Her eyes are a soft iris purple color, but she uses aether to alter the color of the outer ring for reasons known only to herself.

Kimi was a model student of archaeology and aetherology at the Studium. She spent her time studying ancient relics, learning how to create break the curses protecting the artifacts in order to retrieve them for the Forum. Naturally, this meant a great deal of knowledge of all types of magic, and aether in general, was needed... hence the dual major. Her intensive study into the field of curses, aetherology and ancient relics led to many retrievals that had been considered impossible, and eventually earned her the title of Archon in her field.Most of her free time was spent with a boy following the medical path, Oliver Hawkins. They were thick as thieves and her parents would often accuse the son of the renowned surgeon of corrupting their daughter and causing her to shirk her responsibilities.

With no home, and barely enough money to afford one meal a day, she sought out Oliver again. He took her to speak to his Captain, Colton, who invited her to join the crew. Not as a sailor, but as a relics dealer.Though a crewmember of the Aurora in name only, she DID become an employee of the Obsidian Brotherhood.Little is known of the Brotherhood's involvement in the relics trade. That is in part by design, while the rest is simply secrecy. When Okimi identifies a relic to go after, others within the Brotherhood and the Golden Sands bury the knowledge of its very existence.That said, she is ever on the lookout for leads on dangerous or simply interesting artifacts. Kimi is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors, though her favorites seem to be minty, sea green and soft iris purple. Her hair usually reflects her favored color combination, as do her eyes. She's tall for a Raen, standing around five fulms, ten ilms tall and sporting a build that manages to be both fit and curvy at the same time.Her scales are always polished and moisturized, leaving them with a soft rainbow shimmer to highlight the otherwise muted white color.Her style changes with her mood and can vary from prim and proper, muted colors with a professional flair to barely-there skirts and shirts that leave her back or navel exposed... or both.
